American Food Haul // Autumn Foods

I'm not ashamed to admit that I spent well over an hour in Target looking down all the food aisles. As soon as September hits, it seems like they invent a pumpkin spice flavoured version of everything.

I bought way more food back than what I'm showing in this post, including the typical US candy like Jolly Ranchers and the 5 bags of Halloween candy we accumulated at the Disney Halloween Party. But as it's October, I thought I'd show the seasonal food I brought back.

Of course there's hundreds of flavours of pop tarts we can't get in the UK, but the Pumpkin Pie ones stood out being limited edition.

I had already bought Birthday Cake Oreo's which I demolished in a few days. These pumpkin spice ones intrigued me. The Special K bars are only 100 calories each so I bought (again) pumpkin spice and red velvet.

The gourmet barks were only $1 each and I got the flavours White Chocolate and Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate Smore and Chocolate, Caramel Drizzle and Sea Salt.

I spotted this hot sauce for a couple of dollars and just liked the way it looked. I think it will be nice to add to pasta dishes. 

I could have filled a suitcase full of all of the things we can't get here. I'm a proper foodie and I love trying new things, especially sweet stuff. Have you tried any of these before? What's your favourite American food? 

Lush Lord Of Misrule Shower Scream // Review

I make no secret that Lord of Misrule is my favourite smell from Lush. Last year I must have bought about 4 of the bath bombs, so I was excited when I found out that they had made the scent into a shower gel.

The Lord of Misrule Shower Scream is a Halloween limited edition product. They come in different sizes as do most of the products in Lush. I bought 500g of the product for £16.50 which is expensive, however it will last me for ages.

 The product is neon green with a slight shimmer running through it. Even when lathered up, the green tint is still there. Although I like this, as it contributes to the Halloween feel of the product, it makes me nervous when using it as I'm scared it's going to stain the white wallpaper in the bathroom!

The product comes out quite watery which I wasn't expecting and when applied directly to the body, it doesn't lather as much as I'd like. However, when using a sponge, it foams quite quickly. I think I would have enjoyed this more if it was thicker, however it's not a huge deal.

The smell is the same as the bath bomb. A spicy mix of patchouli, black pepper with vanilla, it's very moreish and not overwhelming. After using, a subtle smell is left on the skin and lingers for a couple of hours.

Apart from the consistency of this product, I believe it's a new favourite. A little goes a long way and it is worth every penny. Have you tried this before? If not, be quick as it's a limited edition product.

Urban Decay Primer Potion // Review

I use eye primers a lot more than face primers. Without an eye primer, my shadow tends to crease after just a couple of hours, no matter how good the quality of shadow is. I've tried so many different primers over the past few months, but one of my favourites happens to be the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

The packaging is shaped like a little potion bottle and is a deep purple, so easy to spot in the makeup bag. The consistency is thick and very creamy, and I've never had little pools of oil leak out of it like I have had with other primers. 

I tend to squeeze a little on my fingers, then blend it onto my eye lid. Pretty much the only issue with it is that I have to apply it this way, as I hate getting my fingers messy. Although I am aware that with the travel size, you do get a little doe foot applicator. Upon the lid, it evens out my skin tone and make the pigment of the shadow appear brighter.  

I'd say this makes my shadow last at least ten hours without creasing or dissolving. I got the smaller size at £8, as it works out better value by a ml. I think it's a very reasonable price, considering how little product you need and how long the tube lasts. 

Upto now, I've only tried the original. However, I'm excited to try the 'Sin*' version, the #SheffieldBBloggers were gifted at a meet up.

Tarte Rainforest After Dark Eye and Cheek Palette // Review

Do you ever rediscover an old make up item, and find yourself using it almost every day for like a month straight. It seems to be happening to me a lot lately; especially with eye shadow palettes.

My current go-to is the Tarte Rainforest After Dark Eye and Cheek palette. I think I got this almost two years ago now when my parents went to America. It was supposed to be a limited edition product and is still labelled that way, but I'm sure how much longer it will be available.

This was the first Tarte product I've ever tried. I'd heard a lot of rave reviews about the Amazonian Clay blushes and the eye shadows, and I just couldn't resist asking for this palette as it contained the best of both; six eye shadows, one blush, plus a highlighter and bronzer.

The packaging is stunning, and so different to anything I own. It's plastic, with a fake wood grain effect and an image of a snake across the front. The packaging feels quite sturdy and I don't think I'd have any issues taking this away with me.

Although I always liked the product and the shade range, the thing that's making me use this over and over is the fact it has almost everything I need for a simple day to day look. The shade range of the eye shadows all range from nudes, pinks, purples and golds. They're quite smokey and sultry, but I can create both day and evening looks.

I'm loving wearing Bare to Explore (pink beige) all over the lid with Plum Away With Me (dark plum)in the crease. Also, Up to No Gold (gold shimmery shade) is perfect all over the lid.

I'm not a huge bronzer lover, and I think it's because I'm so pale. However, Park Avenue Princess is perfect for contouring. It blends so well and doesn't look harsh at all.

The highlighter is called Champagne, and is simply stunning. I wear this for work and it isn't over powering, although it's still beautiful and nice for a night out.

The blush 'Unleashed' is a nude pink shade and gives just a hint of colour. I like the way this looks on my skin, and I do want to try more shades of the blush range.

This palette costs $40 and as far as I'm aware, it isn't available in the UK although you can order off the Sephora website. Tarte have recently released a 'Rainforest of the Sea' palette which looks equally as stunning, although it's just an eye shadow palette.

I'd fully recommend this as a 'first Tarte' purchase, as it has four different products to try. However, I know Make Up Revolution do some similar palettes.

Sephora US Make Up Haul

Before my trip to Orlando, I frequently browsed the Sephora website trying to decide what I wanted to purchase whilst I was over there. 

There were two things I wanted from Sephora... and I couldn't get neither as they were both out of stock. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette is on everyone's wish list at the moment- and no where to be seen in any shops. 

I also wanted the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation. After two weeks in the sun, I was still the second palest shade, which of course was the only shade they didn't have in stock. Luckily, I went to another Sephora and managed to purchase it there. 

I love the Sephora Favorites sets as they allow you to try different brands without spending too much money. My parents got me a 'Give Me Some Lip' set last year, and Sephora brought another one out this year. At only $28 for 6 lip products totalling a $97 value, I decided to purchase it again. 

I'm not going to go too much into the products as I've not yet tried them all, however, in my box there was a Too Faced Melted Lipstick in the shade 'Chihuahua', a Smashbox Liquid Lipstick in the shade ' stepping out', a NARS Satin Lip Pencil in the shade 'Rikugien', a Lancome Juicy Shaker in the shade 'Boom Meringue', a Kat Von D Lipstick in the shade 'Lovecraft' and a Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment which I think I received in last years set. 

I also got the Kat Von D Immortal Eye Trio- This includes a full sized Immortal Lash Mascara, and two mini ink liners in a black and grey. I'm still trying these out, but I think I prefer the Tattoo Liner to the Ink liner. Luckily, Kat Von D is now sold in Debenhams.

Now onto the Sephora freebies. I think my favourite thing about Sephora is that you can collect points which leads to receiving free products or exclusive sets. My Mum has a Sephora card and she let me use the points to get some things. She had over 400 points, so I was allowed to pick 4 '100 point' items. I chose a Glam Glow Face mask sample as I've heard such good things. I also picked a Makeup Forever Primer. The lady who served then recommended two Origins Eye Creams which are supposed to work really well together, 

Lastly, as my mum missed out on her Birthday gift which was back in May, we could receive a Marc Jacobs mini lipstick and eyeliner. 

This was everything I bought from Sephora and I can't wait to try everything. Is there anything you recommend from Sephora that you can't get in the UK? 

Hull Blogger Goody Bag

We were all lucky enough to receive a goody bag at the Hull Blogger event that I attended in September. 18 brands were involved in the meet overall, donating raffle prizes or contributing to the goody bags.

In the Goody Bag, I received a Hull Blogger tote bag. I always try to carry a tote bag with me so I don't have to buy plastic bags so this will get plenty of use. UltraDEX and Nanshy have been involved in Hull Blogger meets before, but I've never tried the UltraDEX Oral spray, or the Nanshy Fan Brush.

We also got some samples of Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner which I'm looking forward to trying.

Tessies is a local shop which I used to go in when I was a student and they kindle gave contributed some jewellery to the goody bags, as well as a gift card.

In the raffle, I won some Creightons Beautiful Brunette shampoo and conditioner. It has argon oil in and smells incredible.

I also won a thatlamecompany print for being most active on social media. This will go in my bedroom once I've bought all my new furniture.

Hello October!

October is by far my favourite month. I feel like it really is the beginning of Autumn and it's now okay to wear jumpers and dark lipstick.

Not only that, but my birthday falls at the end of the month.

I've just come back from a couple of weeks in Orlando and they take Autumn (or Fall as it is in the US) very seriously. Even though I went at the beginning of September, I've come back with so much pumpkin flavoured food, candles and general Autumn inspired things which I can't wait to show on the blog.

I'm hoping to blog every day this month, but I always say this and it never goes to plan. But I've got some exciting posts planned coming up in the next couple of days, including a Sephora haul, so keep checking back.
